Ray J Might Be The First Person To Sue Kanye West Over “Famous” Video

Ray J might be taking up Kanye’s dare to sue him.

It appears Kanye’s “wish” to be sued over the controversial “Famous” video may actually come true. According to reports & the latest edition of Heat Magazine, Ray J & his manager, David Weintraub, are considering taking legal action against the G.O.O.D. Music CEO for his naked inclusion in the latest video off The Life Of Pablo.

“We’re talking about potentially doing something,” Weintraub told Heat. “There’s too many times Kanye has done this. You can’t really continue to use people’s likenesses without either compensation or clearance. It seems to be becoming an issue—this is like the fourth time in six months he’s done this. We haven’t really worked anything out. There were kind of discussions but it’s getting old, so our legal team is working out what we want to do with everything.”

Last week, Entertainment Tonight spoke with Ray J, who apparently isn’t happy about the mess the controversial video has caused not only for himself, but for his fiancé Princess as well. Ray J says “I’m engaged. My marriage is all messed up ’cause of craziness. I’m not part of nothing crazy. I walk down a good path. My fiancee tripping. It’s all bad in my world, and that ain’t cool. Don’t put me part of nothing that’s weird, that don’t make no sense. Can I grow up?”

Whether or not Ray & his team will follow through with a lawsuit is another story, but it sounds like they want to. We’ll continue to keep you posted if any more on this story develops however.

Drake & Kanye West React To The Death Of Alton Sterling

Drake pens a letter to his followers about the senseless death of Alton Sterling.

Following the death of 37-year old Alton Sterling, who was senselessly gunned down by ANOTHER police officer in Baton Rouge, Louisiana this week, the hip-hop community has once again expressed their incredible outrage & disbelief on the matter. Everyone from Meek Mill, The Game, Talib Kweli, Chuck D & more went to social media to express their emotions following the video that surfaced Tuesday night of Sterling getting shot in the back. And hours later, Drake & Kanye West decided to chime in on the situation as well.

Kanye took to twitter to post an IG link of the video footage that had the hashtags #RIPAltonSterling, #StandForSomethingOrFallForAnything. Whereas Drake on the other hand took the actual time out of his day to pen a letter to his followers expressing his concerns & emotions on the situation.

Taylor Swift Rumored To Be “Horrified” By Kanye West’s “Famous” Video

A “source close to Taylor” spoke to HollywoodLife about the singer’s reaction to the video.

Kanye West’s “Famous” video has been the big conversation piece of the weekend, but so far, we haven’t heard directly from any of the many stars depicted in the controversial video (save for Chris Brown, who seemed weirded out, but mostly ok with his inclusion). Given their turbulent history, Taylor Swift’s reaction is the one people seem to be waiting on, and while she has yet to comment directly on the video, HollywoodLife has reported that the singer is less than pleased with her depiction in the clip, citing an anonymous source on the matter.

“Taylor is livid. Taylor is horrified [by the ‘Famous’ music video]. Taylor didn’t know what to do when she heard about what Kanye did,” reads the quote supplied to the gossip site. “She is bewildered, feels betrayed and is beyond frustrated with Kanye. It is like a complete nightmare. Taylor is pissed to say the least!”

Of course, these anonymous sources can’t always be trusted, but it doesn’t seem hard to believe that Swift would feel this way. Regardless, she will surely make some kind of official statement soon enough.

Kanye West Updates “The Life Of Pablo” With The Addition Of “Saint Pablo”

Kanye West adds “Saint Pablo” to the tracklisting of “The Life Of Pablo.”

Kanye West continues to alter & change the tracklisting for his latest album The Life Of Pablo. On Tuesday night, the Chicago legend decided to add his latest release, “Saint Pablo,” as the outro on The Life Of Pablo, making the album complete with 20-songs at the moment.

The track, which is co-produced by Mike Dean and features vocals from Sampha, is based on the same sample from Jay Z’s “Where I’m From” from 1997. It was originally presumed that the song would see life on Kanye’s next album Turbo Grafx 16, but that’s clearly not the case after ‘Ye took down the album off streaming services for a couple hours Tuesday night and re-added the updated tracklist like it was nothing.

For what it’s worth, this updated tracklist just so happens to surface on the same day Kanye announced his nationwide tour in its support as well

Kanye West Debuts New Song, Performs “Pop Style” For First Time

Watch Kanye West perform new song “I Don’t Want To Be Liked” and Drake’s “Pop Style” in Manila.

Several videos have appeared from Kanye West‘s first show of 2016 at the Paradise International Music Festival in the Philippines. Now, more footage from the performance has surfaced, including the debut of a never-before-heard take on “Runaway” titled (on YouTube) “I Don’t Want To Be Liked.” The song features some auto-tune warbling from Kanye over gospel piano. “I would rather follow God than the media,” he sings.

Also of note: a performance of his new collaboration with Drake and Jay Z “Pop Style” that came before Drake debuted a newThrone-less “Pop Style” on OVO Radio. So, perhaps Manila was the first and last time we hear the song from Kanye.

Kanye West’s “Famous” Is Now Available On Apple Music & Spotify

Stream Kanye West’s single “Famous” to your heart’s content.

When The Life of Pablo released, Kanye West declared that the album would “never be for sale” on sites like Apple’s iTunes, instead forcing anyone who wants to listen to the album to sign up for Tidal. Kanye has remained true to that declaration,  updating the existing album on Tidal with new versions of a few tracks, until today. Twitter account TeamKanyeDaily posted a tweet showing that the album’s new single “Famous,” is available to stream on Apple Music and Spotify. For reference, “Famous” is the track containing the controversial Taylor Swift line.

Now, this makes sense for Def Jam, a label that has so far allowed its streaming revenue to be severely undercut while Kanye puts on for Tidal. The lead single will finally reach the ears of people who weren’t among the hundreds of thousands to download the album on The Pirate Bay, and Kanye gets to more or less keep his original declaration intact. We’ll have to wait and see if more songs get the single treatment and become widely available for streaming.

What this means is that ‘Ye will definitely not be making any other changes to “Famous,” as he did for “Wolves” and other songs on the album. Stream “Famous” on Spotify and Apple Music now.

Kanye West & Tyga Dress Up As Easter Bunnies

Two new bunnies showed up in the Kardashian household today.

The Kardashians decided to host an Easter celebration for the kids today, and the two rappers in the family circle, Kanye West and Tyga, went the extra mile by dressing up in full-body bunny suits. Kim recorded their entrance on her Snapchat, and Ye is the first bunny to enter the room (in a suit that appears to be of slightly higher quality), while Tyga follows behind and hits a few dabs before surprising the kids.

North was a bit frightened at first, but she eventually approached her pops to go in for the hug.

Kanye West Updates “Wolves” Featuring Vic Mensa & Sia

Kanye West releases the updated version of “Wolves” featuring Vic Mensa & Sia.

Staying true to his word, Kanye West just released a new updated version of “Wolves” tonight on TIDAL featuring Vic Mensa & Sia, who were on the original version we first heard at the Yeezy 2 fashion show.

The Frank Ocean outro has now been added as a separate track entirely on The Life Of Pablo simply dubbed “Frank’s Track.” As for the highly anticipated Drake version we’re still waiting for, that’s anyones guess, but lets hope it’ll still sees the light of day someday.

For what it’s worth, “Wolves” isn’t the first record to be re-worked on either. Just the other day, Kanye fixed “Famous” on Tidal, switching up a couple lines and vocals from Rihanna.

Hudson Mohawke Threatens To Leak Kanye West & Drake Songs

Hudson Mohawke takes aim at Kanye West in a recent twitter rant.

Hudson Mohawke has been a more behind-the-scenes figure when it comes to G.O.O.D. Music releases, but one would still assume he’s getting his due credit (and pay), even if he’s not releasing music front-and-center of the label.

Last night the producer unexpectedly put G.O.O.D.’s label head, Kanye West, on blast, for allegedly not getting credit for some of his work. The most inflammatory tweet has since been deleted, but a screenshot remains (below), where HudMo says, “Literally about to release a zip of Kanye and Drake songs I’ve done that I got 0 for”– it remains unclear if he means “0” dollars or “0” credit.

From there, Hudson vented about the industry in general, and it seems, elicited a subtweet response from another producer Kanye has worked with, Mike Dean.
